A bit about Victoria

Victoria is a BABCP accredited Integrative Cognitive Behavioural Therapist who works with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. She holds an MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and a BSc in Psychology, alongside training in Person-Centred Counselling.

Victoria has particular specialist experience working with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), trauma and PTSD, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), hoarding behaviours, addictions and difficulties with self-esteem and confidence. She also supports people experiencing anxiety, panic, low mood and other difficulties that may be affecting their everyday lives.

Her approach combines evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with person-centred principles, allowing therapy to be adapted around the individual rather than expecting the individual to adapt to a particular model. Sessions with Victoria are calm, collaborative and non-judgemental, with space to explore what is happening at a pace that feels manageable.

Victoria brings particularly extensive experience to her work with addiction, having spent more than 12 years supporting people experiencing substance use and addictive behaviours. This has given her a deep understanding of the complex relationship between addiction, trauma, anxiety, shame, self-esteem and the ways people learn to cope with difficult experiences.

She also has a particular interest in supporting people through perimenopause and menopause. Victoria understands that this stage of life can bring significant emotional and psychological changes alongside physical symptoms, sometimes affecting mood, anxiety, confidence, identity, relationships and an individual's wider sense of wellbeing. She provides a compassionate space to understand these changes and explore what support may be helpful.

As an integrative therapist, Victoria recognises that people rarely arrive in therapy with one difficulty neatly separated from everything else happening in their lives. She takes time to understand the wider picture, including a person's experiences, relationships, environment, physical wellbeing and the different factors that may be contributing to how they feel.

Victoria also works with neurodivergent adults and understands the importance of adapting therapy to different ways of thinking, processing and communicating. Rather than assuming there is one ‘right’ way to engage with CBT, she works collaboratively to find approaches and strategies that are realistic and meaningful for the individual.

Above all, Victoria aims to meet people where they are - at their pace and in their own words. Whether someone arrives knowing exactly what they want help with or simply knowing that something needs to change, she offers a supportive space to develop greater understanding, build practical strategies and work towards feeling more confident in moving forward.
