Individual Therapy
Neurodiversity-affirming therapy, adapted around the way you think, communicate and experience the world.
At The Cognitive Collective, we specialise in therapy for neurodivergent children, young people and adults.

Our therapists understand that neurodiversity can shape far more than attention or social communication. They can influence how we experience emotions, relationships, anxiety, identity, sensory-overwhelm, self-esteem and the expectations placed on us by the world around us.

That's why we don't simply offer traditional therapy to neurodivergent people. We adapt therapy for neurodivergent minds.

You don't need a formal diagnosis to work with us, and you don't need to be neurodivergent. Our therapists also support non-neurodivergent clients who feel that our approach is right for them.

Therapy should adapt to people - not the other way around.
Traditional therapy doesn't always work well for neurodivergent people.
Sometimes the difficulty isn't the therapeutic model itself, but how rigidly it is delivered.

Our therapists adapt evidence-based approaches around the individual. That might mean making something more visual, changing the language we use, slowing things down, bringing more structure into a session - or throwing the structure out completely when it isn't helping.

Some people love worksheets. Some absolutely do not!

We can consider sensory needs, communication preferences, executive functioning, processing time, attention and emotional regulation as part of the way we work together.

There is no expectation to make eye contact, sit still, communicate in a particular way or hide parts of yourself to appear engaged.
You don't have to adapt yourself to therapy. We'll adapt therapy to you.
What we can help with.
Being neurodivergent doesn't mean that everything you experience
is because you're neurodivergent. Sometimes therapy might focus directly on neurodivergence. Sometimes it barely needs to.

What matters is that your therapist understands it as part of the wider picture.

CBT adapted for
neurodivergent minds
Online · £120 per session
In-person · £135 per session
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based psychological therapy that explores the relationships between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. But neurodivergent-affirming CBT isn't simply standard CBT with autism or ADHD added to the conversation.

Our CBT and integrative CBT therapists adapt the way therapy is delivered around each person's communication, experiences and needs.

CBT can support difficulties including anxiety, low mood, OCD, trauma and low self-esteem, alongside neurodivergent experiences such as overwhelm, burnout, masking and emotional regulation.

Depending on you and your therapist, this may include drawing from approaches such as Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), mindfulness and other integrative approaches.

Therapy can be practical and structured, exploratory and reflective, creative and visual — or a mixture of all of these.

Online CBT therapy is available from age 6+.
In-person therapy is available from age 11+ in Cheltenham.
Integrative Counselling
Online · £85 per session
Our integrative counselling offers a warm, flexible and neurodiversity-affirming space to explore what's happening for you.
Counselling can be particularly helpful for people who want space to understand themselves, process experiences and emotions, explore relationships or simply have somewhere they don't need to mask.

Our counsellors adapt sessions around different communication and processing styles and can incorporate visual, creative and practical ways of working where these feel more natural than traditional talking therapy.

There isn't a correct way to do counselling. Together, we'll find what works for you.

Online counselling is available from age 8+.

Children & Young People
We offer neurodiversity-affirming therapy for children and young people from age 6+. We know that therapy with an autistic or ADHD child may need to look quite different from traditional adult talking therapy.

Our therapists can work creatively and visually, incorporate interests and activities, move around, use practical tools and adapt sessions around communication and sensory needs. Building trust comes before expecting a young person to engage in a particular way.

Where appropriate, we'll also work collaboratively with parents and carers, helping them better understand and support their young person while protecting the child's own therapeutic space.

Online therapy is available from age 6+.
In-person therapy is available from age 11+ in Cheltenham.
